The Work Conducted By A Researcher - 850 Words

Fieldwork is basically practical work conducted by a researcher in the natural environment, thus constituting for the base of anthropology in collecting data from cultures previously isolated from the world kept hidden away until discovery. Cultural Anthropology remains an important part in collecting fieldwork due to experiencing the unknown when researching and obtaining data from unknown group of people. The discipline of fieldwork spans from the course of the late 19th century to the modern era continually changing in order to obtain and even more accurate basis of information. The information appears quite dated when I type in fieldwork in the search engine, some spanned nearly over a decade and others well into the 1970’s. Anthropology came a distant way over the course of 100 years continuously changing and adopting new methods in order for precision and accuracy. The problems first arose in Anthropology started with the armchair approach in the late 19th century; men of higher nobility began to write statements on a culture of people they have never witness except from the writings of missionaries, explorers, and merchants. Towards the early 20th century, the verandah approach began to emerge, where people who live near the indigenous group would start emphasizing of interviewing the native.
